The Maharashtra State Security Corporation (M.S.S.C.) is a Security Corporation established by the Government of Maharashtra under the Maharashtra State Security Corporation Act, 2010. The Act came into force on April 19, 2010.

Purpose and Functions

The primary purpose of the MSSC is to raise a Security Force for providing better protection and security to various institutions within the State of Maharashtra.

The Corporation is mandated to undertake the following functions:

  1. Security Provision: To provide protection and security to a wide range of organizations, including:
  • State Government and Central Government offices, undertakings, and Public Sector Undertakings.
  • Vital installations.
  • Financial, religious, cultural, educational, and medical institutions.
  • Private commercial institutes, corporate bodies, and manufacturing units.
  • State-owned/controlled infrastructure facilities such as major bridges, Special Economic Zones, private ports and jetties, dams, and expressways.
  1. Consultancy and Audit: To provide technical consultancy services and to conduct security audits of all such establishments or institutions, at their request and on payment of specified charges.
