About Business

The Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre (RICCC) is a world-class infrastructural landmark located in the Sigra area of Varanasi. It was conceptualized as a "Symbol of Friendship" between India and Japan and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 15, 2021.

1. Architectural Significance

  • The Shiva Linga Shape: The entire structure is designed in the shape of a Shiva Linga, paying homage to the spiritual identity of Kashi (Varanasi), the city of Lord Shiva.
  • Symbolic 108 Rudrakshas: The external façade of the building is adorned with 108 symbolic Rudraksha beads made of aluminum, representing the traditional prayer beads.
  • Indo-Japanese Blend: The centre reflects a unique confluence of Indian spiritual themes and Japanese architectural precision and minimalism. It features a Japanese-style garden and landscaping within the complex.

2. State-of-the-Art Facilities

  • Main Auditorium: A grand hall with a seating capacity of 1,200 people. The hall is designed with advanced acoustics and a "flying tower" for theatrical performances. Interestingly, the hall can be partitioned into two smaller spaces to accommodate mid-sized events.
  • Meeting & Conference Rooms: A separate meeting hall with a capacity of 150 people, which can also be divided into two smaller sections.
  • VIP & Artist Support: The facility includes a high-end VIP room and four dedicated green rooms for performers.
  • Modern Infrastructure: Equipped with high-speed internet, world-class audio-visual (AV) setups, and a centralized Building Management System (BMS).

3. Sustainability & Accessibility

  • GRIHA Rating: The centre is an eco-friendly building with a Level 3 GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment). It incorporates solar power, energy-efficient LED lighting, and sustainable water management.
  • Inclusivity: The entire campus is barrier-free, featuring ramps, elevators, and wheelchair access to ensure it is convenient for people with disabilities.
  • Parking: A basement parking facility with a capacity for 120 vehicles.

4. Purpose and Vision

  • MICE Tourism Hub: RICCC is designed to establish Varanasi as a global destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.
  • Cultural Platform: It serves as a stage for Varanasi’s music gharanas, classical arts, and international cultural exchanges.
  • Economic Driver: By hosting international summits and corporate conventions, it boosts the local hospitality and tourism economy.
